Happy 4th of July!

We are gearing up for a fun day full of friends, food, and fun!  Many of the residents in our building stay put on the 4th as the traffic to the beach (about 3 miles away) is a nightmare.  What typically takes 5 minutes can take 1 to 2 hours.  We have a gorgeous pool area and have planned a big barbecue and potluck.  Yesterday I painted all the little girl toes down by the pool.  The under 3 crowd was a bit difficult as I'm not used to painting on a wiggly surface!   I painted them red with white stars and stripes. These toes are all over 7 - much easier to paint.   The blue toes were done professionally down the hill.   We have stocked up on sunscreen and are gearing up for a super fun day.  I hope everyone has a safe and happy day today!

Still playing!

The last couple days were spent shopping, swimming, visiting with neighbors, planning our big 4th of July party, and just having fun!  I'm working in the mornings when I can, but am not finding much time to get a lot accomplished.  I hope to start listing things soon, but also want to make sure I can get myself to the post office when I do.  I know many of you are waiting for customs and new listings.  I'm trying!  Here are Amelia and Bernice...they'll be available soon!

Fat and happy, but a little behind!

Yesterday Jack and I celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary.  Our friend is the manager at a fabulous restaurant here called Toscana and he insisted we come there to celebrate.  Well, celebrate we did!  I have not eaten or drank that much in a long time...maybe forever!  We started with champagne, then bread and proscuito with mozzarella, lobster salad, pasta with artichoke and raviolis, then steak with potatoes.  Lots of red wine.  Then the dessert tray comes out...with forks!  We had one of everything.  When I mentioned how good one in particular was, a huge slice of that came next.  All with dessert wine.  Oh my.   I think I actually gained 5 pounds overnight!  Feels like it.

The earlier part of the day was spent watching my kids swim and visiting with other moms and dads.  This is what I  spend most of my time doing right now.    I had hoped to list several things on Etsy before today, but have had no time before today.  I'm going to try to get a little work done this morning so I can have a few nice things available soon.  Maybe later today...maybe tomorrow....maybe the next day.    Thanks for your patience and all the sweet e-mails!!!

Busy!

My mother informed me I have been slacking on my blog.  Well, it's been hot, school is out, and we've been busy...swimming!  There are loads of new kids in the building and we've been making new friends and just having fun!   The last few days of school were full of parties and playdates.

The weather is supposed to cool down a bit this week, so I am hoping to finish up a few more clothespin dolls, spool dolls, and treasure boxes.  I'm hoping to have some new items listed by week's end!  Maybe even a painting or two!    Peek back here or sign up for my mailing list there on the left if you want to know when everything is available!

Hope everyone is having a lovely summer so far!

I wish it came in my size!!! Hope you had a wonderful birthday, Miss Elle! Hope you and the big sisters will make me some cupcakes when I come visit next month!

Happy Monday!

Mondays aren't normally anyone's favorite, but they are mine.  Especially this one.  Today is my last, full, normal day with no kids, no volunteering, no nothin'!  Just me and my craft supplies and a big cup of coffee!  I'm going to be working on some new clothespin dolls and spool dolls!  May even run to Michael's for some more supplies.  I love days like today.

Happy Father's Day, Dads!

Hope all the dads out there had a wonderful day!  Our's started this morning with ham, eggs, and pancakes, then some pool time with the girls and all the neighbors, then steak, twice baked potatoes, green beans, corn on the cob, and fudgesicles for dessert!  It was such a nice dinner...all four of us ate the same thing which is a rare treat in this household!

Called my dad and we talked about the price of wild king salmon (of which he caught 8 in Canada this week, but could only keep 2).  $40 per pound!  Yikes!

Jack is now getting some peace and quiet watching a documentary on the Discovery Channel about space travel.  So I am quietly sipping some wine and finishing this little girl on a box for Cam today. Sorry I don't have something more manly to share for the dads, but hey, it's the moms who are peeking at my blog, I'm sure!

Happy Saturday!

Well, Jen and I tried to run some errands today, but everyone everywhere seems to be out there buying last minute Father's Day gifts.  Wwe found no parking and got fed up!  So instead, we came home and did a little craft therapy...

We'll have to try again for the grocery shopping early, early tomorrow morning before any of the LA shopper crowd wake up so dear Dad can have his steak for Father's Day!
